Lip fillers are injections that add volume to your lips. They’re a type of dermal filler.
Lip fillers consist of synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) — HA is a natural substance in your body.
Hyaluronic acid or HA is a sugar found naturally in the body, HA more hydrating than anything known. It’s main function is to bind to water and keep the skin moist, full and thick. Humans naturally create Hyaluronic Acid, so there is no chance of allergic reactions. As we age, we naturally produce less HA and collagen fibers. So this begins the visual aging process due to loss of moisture and elasticity; as a result wrinkles form and skin sags. Inserting HA into the skin can tell the body to produce more collagen to promote a fresher, vibrant look. HA is the main structural element of connective tissue in our bodies.
The device inserts Hyaluronic Acid into the epidermis and upper dermal parts of the skin. The hyaluronic acid filler will turn into tiny molecules and deposits through the skin with the pressure technology. The diameter of the flow is about twice as small as a needle. Since hyaluronic acid turns into tiny molecules when injected, it remains alot finer and spreads more evenly.
Using a 4-mm 30-gauge or mesotherapy needle facilitates precise HA placement into the safer subcutaneous plane of the lip and lowers the pressure needed to place the filler, which optimizes comfort during treatment. This technique aims to increase the safety and predictability of lip augmentation with HA fillers. This option is great for those who want a fuller, quicker result than can be achieved with needleless options.
This totally depends on the client and the technique use. Hyaluron Pen can get results lasting 6 weeks to 2 months or longer, depending on several factors. Injected Lip filler lasts 6 months or longer. Having an active metabolism, lifestyle and weight loss can each result in lower retentions rates. Very importantly, being dehydrated and not drinking water also shortens filler retention. Engaging in hot saunas and yoga, or eating salty foods can greatly affect longevity.
Longevity is cumulative. The life of the filler is better if applied in layers over time especially with Hyaluron Pen. With each treatment, while there is still filler in the area, best results can be achieved. Those with base filler in treatment area tend to see much more longer-lasting results. Without any base filler in the target area, expect the product to have a much shorter life span. After the first time getting filler, it is best to schedule a touch up at two weeks.
Please drink plenty of water prior to your appointment and then for two weeks following your appointment. For coffee or alcohol drinkers , please drink 2x as much water.
